How Much Does Coffee Cost at Restaurants & Coffee Shops?

For basic coffee, expect to pay $1.25 to $2.00 at a restaurant. This may or may not come with refills. The specialty coffee shop, however, is ready with some very defined choices and although you can get a coffee of the day at Starbucks for a dollar and change, their lattes and gourmet coffees are being prepared by hand. A Venti Caramel Brulee or a Peppermint Mocha Frappucino brings $4.95.

Upscale restaurants also offer blends such as espresso, costing around $2.00 to $2.25, Cappucino, at $3.00 to $3.50 (flavors slightly more) and they may also offer liqueur coffees depending on the type of restaurant. Some eateries do give free refills and some do so from time to time - but this is one way that the customer feels that he or she is getting more than what is being paid for.
